British Council announces a call for applications for Exploratory grants under the framework International Strategic Partnerships in Research and Education (INSPIRE), aimed at developing collaboration among higher education institutions in the UK and Kazakhstan.
Exploratory grants in the amount of 2,000 pounds will support visits to HEIs which are viewed as potential partners. Similar grants can be given to UK institutions who are looking for partners among HEIs in Kazakhstan.
Preference will be given to those applicants seeking to establish partnerships in strategic areas of importance for our project:
Environment and Climate Change
Biotechnology
Education with a focus on English language teaching and methodology and education policy & planning
Energy
Applications in other areas can be also considered.
Applications for 2010-11 Exploratory grants should be submitted before 19 November 2010. Applications in English should include clearly defined objectives and outcomes from the programme of visits, dates of the visits which should take place before 31 March 2011, HEIs to be visited and proposed partnership area.
Applications will be considered as soon as they are received by the British Council on an ongoing basis. There are a fixed number of awards each year, so early applications are advised.
